Catch of the week: The Bourget Brothers

Me and my faithful partner (my older brother 😉😉), have been passionate about fishing for over 35 years. As I was approaching my 50th birthday and my brother’s 60th, never would I have expected that fly fishing would bring us a "Buzzz" the we’ve never felt before!

After all these years, we had caught every variety of fish that could be found in our beautiful bodies of water in Quebec and Ontario. Until 3 years ago, when I asked my brother: What do you think of Atlantic salmon fishing? I had seen an auction of Saumon Quebec, where we bet on a trip. Bingo: the Bonaventure.

What a wonderful way, as we approach our post-career years, to develop a new passion for fly fishing. After three days of learning the basics of fly fishing, we left with memories of our first catches and the wonderful moments with our guides. Since this trip, a new annual ritual has been established: fishing the king of our beautiful rivers.

Luck is probably on our side; multiple salmon were caught, and all of them were released. But since that day, a question still remains: who was really hooked? The King of our rivers or the two Bourget brothers ..... ? I let you guess 😉😉😉

Have a great 2023 season!!!
Tight lines!
